Join us for the workshop on Marie Espérance von Schwartz!

In cooperation with Humboldt University of Berlin, a workshop dedicated to the work of English-German writer Marie Espérance von Schwartz (1818–1899) will take place in Berlin on October 1–2, 2025. Marie Espérance von Schwartz became famous for her biography of Garibaldi and, under the Hellenized pseudonym Elpis Melena, published worthwhile travel writings as well as passionate texts on animal protection.

The workshop will take place at the Institute for the German Literature at Humboldt University of Berlin, Dorotheenstraße 24, 10099 Berlin, Room 3.246.
